Life is busy. Between taking care of the kids and all their activities plus trying to squeeze in a workout, we know how hectic the week can get. That’s why Monkey Bar Gym combines all these things into one. We’re the only Seattle gym that offers simultaneous classes for parents and kids so that families can conveniently work out at the same time and place. Our mission is to create a supportive, family feel to our gym community. Skip the babysitter and daycare to get fit as a family!
MBG and Gracie Barra Bellevue are now offering our Youth & Parents classes five days a week! The Parent/Youth classes are from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. The weekly schedule is as follows:
Monday: Youth and parents kickboxing/boxing class- emphasis on fundamentals, self-defense and conditioning.
Tuesday: Youth BJJ / Parents conditioning class.
Thursday: Youth BJJ / Parents strength class.
Friday: Youth Monkey Bar Gym class – strength and conditioning with an emphasis on functional training. Parents follow along with strength and conditioning format.
Saturday: Jiu-Jitsu – focus on grappling, self-defense, discipline, self-esteem, and confidence. Parents have a conditioning class (main Monkey Bar Gym curriculum for Saturday).

Professor Carols Sievert is a certified Gracie Barra Black Belt, two-stripe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and runs the Youth BJJ program at Gracie Barra Bellevue.
Rodrigo Lopes is a three-stripe Black Belt and Director of Gracie Barra Northwest / Head Instructor of Gracie Barra Seattle.
Amy Montenegro is a Professional MMA Competitor and Top 20 in the World Straweight Division
Dex Montenegro is a Professional MMA Fighter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor
Greg Jones is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Medium Heavyweight competitor, Natural Heavyweight Bodybuilding Champion, and Certified Natural Trainer
Coaches Casey Stentz and John Schwabacher also help with Youth BJJ classes
